Citroën is a major French automobile manufacturer, part of the PSA Peugeot Citroën group.

Founded in 1919 by French industrialist André-Gustave Citroën (1878-1935), Citroën was the first mass-production car company outside the USA and pioneered the modern concept of creating a sales and services network that complements the motor car. In 1924, Citroën produced Europe’s first all-steel-bodied car, the B-10. In 1934, Citroën secured its reputation for innovation with its Traction Avant not only the world’s first mass-produced front-wheel drive car, but also one of the first cars to feature monocoque-type body. In 1954 Citroën produced the world's first hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension system, then in 1955 the revolutionary Citroën DS, the first European production car with disc brakes. In 1967, Citroën introduced the first swiveling headlights in several models, allowing for greater visibility on winding roads. The brand celebrated its 90th Anniversary in 2009.

Hirvonen castiga in Suedia

     Astazi s-a incheiat prima etapa din Campionatul Mondial de Raliuri, desfasurata in Suedia. Asa cum era de asteptat, pe podium au stralucit pilotii scandinavi. Mikko Hirvonen s-a impus in fata lui Mads Ostberg cu o diferenta de numai 6 secunde. Pe locul trei a sosit Jari-Matti Latvala, in timp ce pilotii Citroen au ocupat locurile 4-6, in urmatoarea ordine : Sebastien Ogier, Petter Solberg, Sebastien Loeb. Kimi Raikkonen a terminat raliul pe locul 8, in timp ce americanul Ken Block a reusit doar un modest loc 14.

     Se pare ca in acest an, Raliul Suediei le-a pregatit mici surprize pilotilor Citroen. Sebastien Loeb a fost clar deranjat de faptul ca a plecat primul pe probele speciale, el curatand traseul pentru pilotii Ford. Petter Solberg a fost si el lovit de nesansa : in ultima zi, a depasit viteza legala pe unul din drumurile de legatura intre probe. Drept sanctiune, in ultima proba speciala a trebuit sa-i cedeze volanul copilotului sau, Chris Patterson. Singurul care a avut o evolutie cat de cat constanta a fost Sebastien Ogier.
     Anul acesta, Federatia Internationala de Automobilism a hotarat sa acorde puncte si primilor trei clasati in ultima proba speciala. Asadar, Ogier a primit 3 puncte (locul 1), Loeb 2 puncte (locul 2) si Latvala 1 punct (locul 3).

Citroen DS24 Concept [2019]

     Acest concept este inspirat din micul DS19, prezentat in 1955 la Salonul Auto de la Paris. Daca nu va mai amintiti cum arata masina, aruncati o privire alaturi.
     Responsabili de acest proiect futurist sunt Ugo Spagnolo, Aurelin Petit, Luzaen Benoit si William Vass. Felicitarile mele celor patru designeri! Masina arata absolut genial.
     Ramane de vazut daca francezii din conducerea Citroen vor transforma acest concept in realitate.
