Muscle car war : Old vs. New

     Filmuletul de mai jos este realizat de americanii de la Motor Trend, pentru a reaminti entuziastilor auto cat de mult au evoluat muscle-car-urile de peste Ocean. In competitia old-new s-au inscris un Chevy Camaro SS din 2011, un Dodge Challenger SRT8 din acelasi an si un Shelby Mustang GT500, alaturi de 'bunicii' lor din anii '70 : Camaro SS, Challenger & Shelby Mustang. Dupa cum era de asteptat, la capitolul performanta inving noile masini, posesoare ale unor 'plamani' mult mai potenti, iar categoria 'Soul' este adjudecata de vechile modele.

Lee Iacocca & Ford Mustang @ Jay Leno's Garage

     Daca nu stiti cine este Lee Iacocca si ce legatura are el cu Ford Mustang, va invit sa va aruncati un ochi peste acest articol de pe Wikipedia. Daca totusi sunteti prea ocupati pentru a va uita pe Wiki, va spun pe scurt : Lee Iacocca este 'tatal' Ford-ului Mustang si in acelasi timp este responsabil de renasterea Chrysler in anii '80.
     Pentru aniversarea a 45 de ani de la aparitia pe piata a Mustang-ului, proiect pus la punct de Iacocca, Ford a hotarat in 2009 sa-i dedice americanului o serie speciala, de numai 45 de autovehicule, dintre care 5 i-au revenit maestrului Lee. Produsul finit este de departe unul din cele mai reusite Mustang-uri din toate timpurile (cel putin dupa parerea mea).
     Iacocca 45th Anniversary Edition Ford Mustang a vazut lumina zilei in 2009, iar cel mai bun articol despre acest muscle-car l-am citit pe Autoblog, ca sa nu mai vorbesc de faptul ca tot americanii au cea mai tare galerie foto cu acest model.
     Sa revenim la subiectul acestui post, si anume vizita pe care Iacocca i-a facut-o lui Jay Leno, impreuna cu primul exemplar din colectia sa de Mustanguri 'Iacocca'. In urma acestei vizite, a rezultat un filmulet foarte interesant, mai ales pentru ca putem auzi cum 'toarce' propulsorul de sub capota Ford-ului.

2010 Q Series Mustang ahead of SEMA Specifications and Reviews

Steeda has long been synonymous with high-performance Mustangs, customizing and racing the pony cars for the past twenty years. In July the Florida-based tuner showed off its first version of the 2010 Mustang, the sports car, which featured fairly simple upgrades, including new wheels and tires, minor suspension upgrades, graphics, and the like. We assumed more was to come, especially in terms of horsepower, and it looks like we won't have to wait long to see what Steeda has for us next.

The company announced this week that it'll unveil the 2010 Q Series Mustang at SEMA next month, although specific details are far and few between. Company founder Dario Orlando promises the company's new take on Ford's pony car will be devoid of compromises or shortcuts, and we're sure the result will be nothing less than impressive if Steeda's previous Mustangs are anything to go by. We expect the 4.6L V8 will likely benefit from a twin-screw supercharger, adding triple-digit horsepower increases, and the suspension should receive extensive upgrades developed from Steeda's racing program. Stay tuned for more details as Steeda releases them, and be sure to look for our coverage of the official unveiling in just a few short weeks at SEMA.

In timp ce pierdeam vremea pe diferite site-uri auto, am descoperit un fel de "Big Daddy Customizer" oferit de cei de la Ford pentru noul Mustang 2010. Trebuie sa recunosc americanii au facut poate cel mai bun concept de personalizare de pe piata. Aici selectezi piesele si acestea se schimba interactiv, spre deosebire de plicticoasele personalizatoare unde bifezi intr-o lista nesfarsita de optionale. Bravo baieti!!! Iata ca a aparut si la noi mult asteptatul film, si am observat un lucru destul de ciudat. Pe langa revenirea in distributie a actorilor Vin Diesel, Paul Walker si Michelle Rodriguez am remarcat ca in acest film s-a pus accentul pe batranele doamne ale Americii. Si aici ma refer ca masinile europene si japoneze au fost o prezenta exotica in acest episod. Din legendarele masini cu Hemi-uri remarcam in film cateva exemplare cum ar fi Chevrolet Chevelle SS, Dodge Charger R/T, Ford Torino, Buick Grand National si Plymouth Road Runner. Restul sunt reprezentate de Subaru Impreza WRX STI, Nissan GTR R34, Porsche Cayman S, BMW M5. Chiar daca raportul pare echilibrat, tind sa cred ca balanta se inclina in favoarea muscle-car-urilor.
De aceea mi-a trecut prin cap sa lansez un sondaj sa vad cam cat de populare sunt printre noi aceste modele oarecum spectaculoase. O sa incerc sa atasez poze cu fiecare model, pentru ca este posibil sa nu recunoastem un model dupa nume.
